My girlfriend and I got into a fight the other night because I don't have insurance anymore. After I turned 23, I was kicked off and basically now I do not work full time so I have no benefits. But I told her that paying a few hundred dollars a month was absolutely ridiculous for someone that really had no risk factors. Yet, she persisted that it was always good to be safe and so on and so forth.

Well, honestly - I think health insurance is a joke and unless there are some great affordable health insurance plans out there, it really isn't worth your money unless you plan on spending money on your health.

"But there might be a giant accident and you will have to pay millions of dollars to the hospital!"

If I worried about all that every day I would never get anything done.

The sad thing is that there really is no affordable health insurance plan out there, at least not one that I have found. BCBS advertises their amazingly affordable health insurance plan of $40 per month, but when you actually look at it - it is nothing but bogus material. The deductable is like $10,000 and you really don't get any benefits from it. So then you search for more affordable health insurance plans that have quality and the prices instantly goes up with the benefits.
